The two pit bulls were in a fenced enclosure at a home on the same street where the boy lived. Reports said a witness tried to fight off the dogs, but they would not listen. A pit bull was defined under the ordinance as any dog that is an American pit-bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier or any dog of mixed breed displaying the majority of physical traits of any of the above breeds.
