On Sunday in Detroit, Matthew Boyd threw the first shutout of his three-year major league career, but the story of the Tigers' game against the White Sox was what almost happened. The Sox came into the game hving outscored their opponents 69-26 with 14 home runs during a 6-2 stretch. Dylan Covey allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings of work in a loss to the White Sox on Sunday. The fair officials said the ferris wheel operator correctly followed safety procedures.
