According to the Sun Sentinel , as of Monday morning there were over 815,000 outages in Miami-Dade (80% of homes), almost 644,000 outages reported in Broward (68% of homes), and over 523,000 outages in Palm Beach (70% of homes). until further notice. Miami International Airport announced it will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to damage from Irma. It is still unclear at this point when they will reopen, leaders say. (more...)

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, in the United States city of Lebanon, is being evacuated after an "active shooter alert" was issued by police. Police have told people in the area to avoid the hospital. The alert said police are searching for a male, 6-feet-1-inch tall, with salt and pepper blonde hair, and wearing a red camouflage shirt.
