The fire was reported before 1:30 p.m. on the south side of the 210 Freeway in the 10800 block of West La Tuna Canyon Road on the west side of the mountains, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department . A 12-mile stretch of the 210 Freeway was closed Friday afternoon when a brush fire in the Verdugo Mountains jumped the highway and began to push near homes, authorities said. Baltimore County police are reviewing the arrest of two men accused of robbing a Woodlawn bar during an officer's retirement party this week. They reportedly pulled out guns and demanded the cashier give them money. The officers repeatedly yelled for the suspects to stop and identified themselves as police officers, but the suspects continued running, the report said. (more...)
