The Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said that while Harvey has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph (40 mph), the continued torrential rains make it as unsafe as a hurricane. And it's still not over. But before the Strand is saturated early next week, Saturday is expected to be nice with winds generated by high pressure keeping the area unseasonably cool for August. The 67-year-old is accused of conspiracy in a 11-year-old case, in which his supporters had opened fire on villagers in Rohtak, killing one person and injuring several others. Judicial Magistrate, Hisar, Mukesh Kumar pronounced the verdict, acquitting Rampal, head of Satlok Ashram, Barwala and his followers here. Swells will affect parts of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina coasts during the next day or so, creating risky surf and rip currents. The heavier rains may result in some flooding along coastal areas. The coast will see the rain start as early as Monday morning while inland areas won't see the heavy rain until late Monday into Tuesday . In a statement released by the governor's office, North Carolina will send two Helo-Aquatic Teams, known as NC HART, to San Antonio to help with flood rescue and response. Gabreski Airport to Fort Hood to aid in the recovery efforts. All resources are coordinated between state emergency management agencies. Aside from Texas, the other states that are subject to California travel restrictions are Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Dakota. (more...)

Dan McTeague, a senior petroleum analyst with gasbuddy.com, said the price of gas has already increased by about two to 2.5 cents per litre in unregulated markets in Canada.
