North Korea is not going to give up its nuclear weapons as long as the Kim regime remains in power. Hess told him that nobody at the station was going to kill him and asked why he would say that. North Korea's official Rodong Sinmun newspaper warned Sunday that the drills are "the most explicit expression of hostility" against it and an act of "adding fuel to the fire" on the divided peninsula. The exercises, which are due to last for 11 days, normally prompt some form of weapons test by North Korea . This year, the US has scaled back the number of troops participating by about eight thousand, but Defense Secretary James Mattis says that's not because of heightened tensions. (more...)
