The figure was up by 33,000 on the year before, but statisticians attributed the rise to an "unusual pattern" in estimates of non-EU student immigration for 2016 which research indicates was an "anomaly". Immigration has stayed roughly stable at about 630,000, the report showed. This is similar to the level recorded in year ending September 2014. Weymouth police officer Michael Chensa, 42, was chasing Emmanuel Lopes after Lopes was involved in a auto wreck around 7:30 a.m. - when Lopes allegedly bashed Chensa with a stone, sending the officer tumbling to the ground. Chesna had been with the Weymouth Police Department for six years, nearly to the day, CBS Boston reports . They were initially thought to be the only ones wounded. Officials said they're now in a standoff with a suspect armed with a rifle. Gunfire was exchanged. There is a belief in Conservative circles that a no-confidence vote in May will have to be called by Wednesday this week as there will otherwise not be time to hold it before parliament breaks up for the summer on Tuesday 24 July. In the police bodycam vision, Augustus can be seen flailing away from police before his shirt is raised. He spins and darts between the SUV and the police cruiser as he reaches toward his waist. Police say their encounter with Augustus began when they suspected that he was carrying a gun in his waistband. The police said in a statement that the officer who killed Augustus will be placed on 30 days of administrative duty, a routine decision after an officer-involved shooting. (more...)

Previous year the United States president Donald Trump was guest of honour.
