Zoo Miami did not evacuate any of its animals ahead of hurricane Irma because the stress of moving an animal away from their regular enclosures is often more risky than the storm itself. US News & World Report said that the Miami Zoo had to take special care to secure some of its animals because they're endangered species. Other animals were left in their usual habitat with gates to their shelters left open to keep them from becoming too stressed. (more...)

So it might sound quite dramatic that the largest solar flare in over a decade - 12 years to be exact - was recorded on 6 September 2017 over a 48 hour period, but its effects were nothing short of spectacular. He said "It's very unusual to observe the opening minutes of a flare's life". One of the largest solar flares was observed recently by Astronomers in the United Kingdom as well as in the US. It said the USA would pay a heavy price if the sanctions proposed by Washington are adopted. There was no independent confirmation but some Western experts said there was enough strong evidence to suggest the reclusive state has either developed a hydrogen bomb or was getting very close.
