The dwarf planet's lengthy orbit is extremely oblong, sending the Goblin far away from Earth for most its 40,000-year-long trek around the sun . The location in the sky where 2015 TG387 reaches perihelion is similar to 2012 VP113 , Sedna , and most other known extremely distant trans-Neptunian objects, suggesting that something is pushing them into similar types of orbits. The formation of the magnetic field remains a mystery. That means "three distinct reservoirs of organic molecules in the Saturn system", according to NASA . Researchers confirmed a quirk about the planet, that its magnetic field perfectly aligns with its rotation. The new data shows a magnetic-field tilt of less than 0.0095 degrees. (more...)

After that, the unit made contact with his team, reported on Twitter the lander. Asteroid Ryugu, an ancient space rock roughly 300 million km from Earth, is now home to three Earth-born inhabitants bouncing across its bouldery surface. In addition, it can roll from one side to the other. The lithium battery-run MASCOT can operate 16 hours - while the asteroid revolves twice - to collect and transmit data, including temperature and mineral varieties. (more...)

- October 06, 2018

The area to watch in the tropics this weekend is in the western Caribbean where a large circulation over Central America could eventually spawn tropical development in the Gulf of Mexico by early next week. Meteorologist Ryan Maue of weathermodels.com forecasts a weak area of low pressure forming next week in the Gulf of Mexico. The disturbance in the western Caribbean that we've been watching for the last few days continues to battle moderate to high wind shear. (more...)

- October 06, 2018

The team behind this intriguing discovery, researched more than 250 planets outside our solar system using the space telescope NASA Kepler . Astronomers call the moon Kepler-1625b-i. They watched the planet during its 19-hour transit . A moon could cause that kind of an uncertain, wobbly path, they noted. "You do sometimes form moons that big through the coalescing of disk material", Kipping said. (more...)

Tropical Depression could form by late this weekend
- October 06, 2018

Environmental conditions are forecast to relax, which could allow for the formation of a tropical depression by late weekend or early next week. The NWS puts the chances of formation at 40 percent over the next 48 hours. As of Friday morning, both the GFS and European place the center of low pressure in the west central Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday afternoon. - October 05, 2018

In the case of the Earth-Moon system, an early collision with a larger body is hypothesised to have blasted off material that later coalesced into a moon. If they are able to observe a full transit, representative of a "clean moonlike event, then I think we're done", Kipping said . The moon, which orbits a giant exoplanet called Kepler-1625b, is incredibly large, comparable to the size of the gas giant Neptune in our solar system. (more...)
