California Coastal Commission marine debris program manager Eben Schwartz told shark researcher David Shiffman of Southern Fried Science that "To make the claim, as The Ocean Cleanup Project is, that they will "clean the oceans" by 2040 or whenever is disingenuous and misleading, when it will, at best, clean a very small percentage of what's found on the surface". Wind and Solar Energy Farms Would Revive Vegetation in the Sahara Desert Wind and Solar Energy Farms Would Revive Vegetation in the Sahara Desert
- September 09, 2018

Installing massive wind and solar farms in the Saharan desert could slow global warming , and also give a small but beneficial boost to rain in the dry African region, researchers said Thursday. In 2017, the global energy demand was estimated to be 18 terawatts. Large-scale wind farms in the Sahara could increase rainfall and vegetation in the area. (more...)

The mission includes discovering exoplanets which bear a close resemblance to our own Earth . Initially, the telescope studied more than 150,000 stars in order to find brightening caused by planets passing their parent stars. The first indications were displayed by the pointing performance of the telescope, that appeared to be degraded. However, as emphasized by the specialists of the Agency, how much fuel is left at the telescope is still unknown, so NASA will continue to monitor his work. (more...)
