In a recent tweet he cited "money" as the main reason for PlayStation not allowing crossplay between platforms: "When I was at Sony, the stated reason internally for this was money". For a long time now Sony has been the only console manufacturer reluctant to allow PS4 users to play with users on other hardware. What's interesting about Smedley's comment is that would explain why cross platform play works between PlayStation and other, non-rival formats. (more...)

The Intel Core i7-8086 processor is a 6 core / 12 thread affair that can reach fairly high clocks due to being handpicked chips (called the silicon lottery) and are created to commemorate their 40th anniversary. There is a big win here for anyone who swaps the 8086K, as it is a 6C/12T processor that retails for around $469, while the Threadripper 1950X retails for $946, almost $500 more. (more...)

The vivo NEX S and NEX A share most of their specs, but the NEX S has the faster Snapdragon 845 (710 for the NEX A) and more RAM - 8GB over the NEX A's 6GB. It also shows a presence of a very thin chin, while the other bezels appear nearly non-existent. A fresh tidbit from a prolific leaker says the Pixel 3 XL phone will stick with a single-lens camera. However it is in a case and only the rear of the case is shown in the image. What we can also see from the image shared by Ice Universe is that there may very well be two cameras on the front within the notch. The bug in these devices essentially allows any website to see nearby wireless connections and cross-reference with Google's database to determine the precise location of the user. In January of 2017, Google made getting an Uber ride easier than ever by integrating Uber directly into Google Maps . However, for reasons now unknown, Google just removed that integration. It was live on the Android version earlier this year, though. Uber has certainly changed how people get around. It's possible that Google or Uber could make an official announcement explaining the feature removal, but for now, you'll have to use the Uber app directly if you want to book a ride through ... There will be a choice to be made once you reach the limit: continue on unabated or lock your data down completely so you can't use it any more and go over the limit you've set. Datally offered plenty of features to keep tabs on how much data you're using and to help mitigate that if necessary. This feature lets you set a temporary data limit on your device. (more...)

Once available on phones, heading to the overflow menu in the top-right corner of the app will yield a new " Messages for web " menu that launches a QR code scanner to begin the pairing process. When this feature is live, the app will include an option to scan that code. This is a lot like how Google's Allo messaging service works, but considering it's for the stock texting function on so many Android phones, it should catch on quite a bit more. (more...)
