The ethics of genetically modifying animals are a topic of much debate, and there are already plenty of laws in place that would prevent pigs such as these from being used for food in many countries, including the United States. Mr Zhao said the genetic modification shouldn't have an adverse effect on the taste of the animals' meat. No one would have pointed the finger at one particular Asiatic black bear (also known as a moon bear) holed up in a Myanmar monastery: He had too much of his own tongue to handle, let alone anyone else's. The vets believe the tongue's swelling could have been congenital or caused by the mosquito-borne parasitic infection elephantiasis , which is common in humans but has not previously been recorded in other animals. Researchers analyzed death and injuries related to funs in California before and after gun shows in Nevada and California. Nevada's gun laws are some of the least restrictive in the country and impose fewer rules on gun shows. The study was conducted by University of California, Berkley. The findings, published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine , show that state gun laws have a measurable effect on public safety, especially when it comes to gun shows, the study authors wrote. Electronic cigarette smoking is now banned in all places where smoking tobacco products are already prohibited in St. Lawrence County and across New York State. Almost half a million dishwasher are being recalled by BSH Home Appliances due to potential fire hazards. About 61,000 dishwashers are also being recalled in Canada, CPSC said. BHS Home Appliances has expanded a recall already in place by 408,000 units. A Pennsylvania man is in custody after police discovered he was allegedly selling heroin from his girlfriend's hospital bed the day she gave birth, reports local station WTAE . Officers asked where the person bought the drugs, which allegedly led them to Room 511 in Excela Health Westmoreland.
