The Health Department announced Friday that there have been 20 confirmed cases of typhus among residents this year. Pasadena averages only between one and five cases annually. Officials are still working to determine where exactly the cases in downtown L.A. may have occurred. Typhus is not contagious between people. The company said the eggs have a "best if used by" dates of July 25 through October 3 and a UPC code of 7-06970-38444-6.
