Depending on the country and the type of drug it is administered in, it's either available over the counter or requires a prescription. The new study , however, examined this common painkiller's negative impact on the circulatory system and found out that this drug is indeed increasing the risks of cardiovascular conditions, heart attack and stroke included, as reported by the leading author Morten Schmidt at Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark. "The shoes she liked had been tried on by other little girls and that's how Sienna picked up the infection". The girl's mother is attributing the five-day hospital stay to trying on shoes without wearing socks. A new study warns that a popular NSAID pain reliever called diclofenac has been associated with an increased risk of serious heart health issues, including heart attacks. The risk of gastrointestinal bleeding at 30 days increased 4.5-fold in patients who started diclofenac compared to those who didn't. The individuals factored into the study had an average age of mid-40s and were split into low-to-high groups based on their baseline cardiovascular health risk. (more...)

People who have been in close contact with her have been prescribed clearance antibiotics to reduce the risk of it being spread. At the beginning of August, a 38-year-old Central Coast woman died by W strain of meningococcal disease. There have been 41 cases of meningococcal across NSW so far this year. In 2017, there were 91 confirmed cases. Almost half (19) were the B strain, while 11 were the W strain. (more...)

A young female Asian elephant has died at Taronga Zoo after she showed signs of having a herpes-related illness.
