The incident comes some 24 hours after smugglers pushed 120 migrants off a boat near the coast of Shabwa, resulting in the drowning of about 50 migrants. Mr De Boeck called the suffering of migrants on the route enormous, especially during the current windy season on the Indian Ocean. Anyone who comes in contact with blue-green algae, or who ingest water containing algae may experience skin irritation, rash, sore throat, sore red eyes, swollen lips, fever, nausea and vomiting and/or diarrhea. Boiling the water won't remove toxins produced by the algae, and an alternate source of water should be provided to pets and livestock. Because it is unknown when an algae bloom becomes toxic, officials warn people should avoid contact with water that has visible algae or algae scum ... (more...)

OR will be the fourth state where a tobacco possession age of 21 takes effect, since the legislation from New Jersey takes effect in November and Maine's takes effect in late 2018. Oregon's new law aims to crack down on tobacco vendors who sell to the underaged, rather than punish the buyers. Fines for cashiers and managers who allow anyone under 21 to buy tobacco products start at $50 and $250, respectively, but can jump to $500 and $1,000 for multiple instances. (more...)

Stacy said Sarah's father passed away from colon cancer , so they have that connection. Stacy Hurt was coming back to Pittsburgh from a colon cancer advocacy retreat in Nashville on July 23.
