In a conference call following the team's announcement, Markov said he was ready to stay with the Canadiens on a one-year deal, but that "it didn't work". Markov was taken by the Canadiens at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. He and a group of doctors examined Charlie last week and gave their expert opinions to the judge.
