The agency said that of the more than 6,000 Walgreens locations it inspected, about 22 percent were found illegally selling tobacco products to minors. Ashworth said the company will also train and certify pharmacists and technicians to help people quit tobacco and will promote tobacco-cessation products and services, along with "a comprehensive suite of digital information and support tools to patients who want to quit smoking". As of the end of March this year, Huawei said it had signed 40 commercial 5G contracts with carriers and have shipped more than 70,000 5G base stations to markets around the world. Huawei is aiming to overtake Apple in phone shipments this year and may close the gap with market leader Samsung by year-end, reports said. Huawei is based in Shenzen, China, and is the world's biggest telecoms equipment maker, and one of the biggest smartphone makers. (more...)

Looks like video game developers would have to come up with a different marketing strategy when it comes to distributing their titles in China. The legal costs hit Facebook's first-quarter earnings, which were 85 cents per share. Facebook shares rallied more than 7 percent in after-hours trade following the results. The company cautioned during a conference call with analysts that it faces "ad targeting headwinds" in the second half of this year. A NY man was apprehended at the end of past year on the grounds that he was responsible for a string of thefts across a number of Apple Stores, but the charges were dropped nearly immediately when it was identified to be a false arrest. The company employs in-store facial recognition inside its retail stores to help track down thieves and suspected culprits in such cases. In a statement, the carmaker said it had sent a team to Shanghai to investigate the matter, and that there were no reported casualties. It declined comment further when contacted by Reuters. The company is building its first overseas vehicle factory in Shanghai to ramp up annual production, tapping into the world's biggest auto market and avoiding some of the impact of Sino-US trade tensions.
