MPs spent much of the day and the early evening debating a motion that would allow the House of Commons to deal speedily with a bill, tabled Thursday, that would put a stop to mail disruptions across the country. The last time back-to-work legislation was used for Canada Post workers was in 2011 by the then-Conservative government. But two independent senators, Frances Lankin and Diane Griffin, wrote Hajdu to express their concern that the bill may not be constitutional. (more...)

West Texas Intermediate crude (WTI) fell $3.37, or 6.2 percent, to $51.26 after briefly sliding about 7 percent below $51 a barrel in light trading due to the Thanksgiving holiday. That is an increase of half a million bpd when compared to the group's forecast from six months ago. The International Energy Agency expects non-OPEC output alone to rise by 2.3 million barrels per day (bpd) this year. (more...)
