Nintendo Announces Next Free NES Games For Switch And A New

The Rewind function comes next to The Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong 3 launch on July 17.

Nintendo has announced that the next additions for the the Nintendo Switch Online's NES game collection will be Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew, with both games to be added to the service on July 17, 2019. Players can rewind gameplay by pressing and holding the ZL + ZR buttons. This feature can help smoothen your gaming experience by allowing you to escape death or retry trickier sections more quickly, though it's obviously completely optional. Additionally, the entire NES - Nintendo Switch Online game library also will support voice chat using the smartphone app. Combined with save states, it's now much more user-friendly to blast through those classic but often challenging NES titles.

These are Wrecking Crew (a platform that inspired the far more famous Mario Bros) and Donkey Kong 3, the third adventure of the Nintendo gorillone halfway between arcade and puzzle.

Both of these games are joining the 40+ other NES games now available to Nintendo Switch Online members. Now that we're already partway into July, Nintendo has lifted the curtain on what games they'll be adding this time around. With a hammer as their only tool, take control of the brothers and set out to destroy ladders, rip out pipes, knock out walls and detonate explosive devices. Nintendo reminds us that the service is now over 40 games strong. Remember that this isn't all that Nintendo Switch Online has to offer, so if you haven't signed up, look into a $19.99 annual membership. These are also the only two games Japan is getting this month.

Nintendo this week revealed the two NES classics coming soon to the collection available to Nintendo Switch Online members.
