Bohemian Rhapsody director Bryan Singer settles rape accusation with $150,000 payout

Filmmaker Bryan Singer settles rape allegation by Cesar Sanchez-Guzman

Sanchez-Guzman filed his lawsuit in December 2017, claiming that Singer raped him in 2003 when he was just 17 years old during a yacht party in Seattle.

One of the key allegations against Bryan Singer looks set to be settled out of court after the director agreed to pay $150,000 to resolve allegations that he raped a 17-year-old boy in 2003.

James, who said that no evidence had been produced to show that Singer attended the party, is thought to have reopened the case in 2018 on the grounds that any settlement from Singer should be listed as an asset to Sanchez-Guzman.

An agreement between Singer's attorneys and the bankruptcy trustee was reached on Wednesday.

Singer's attorney Andrew Brettler said the filmmaker doesn't even know Sanchez-Guzman and hasn't had any interactions with him.

TMZ: Barbara Corcoran's brother died in Dominican Republic
Naturally, people are puzzled by these suspicious deaths - and theories have started to roll out on what might be the cause of it. Johnathan "was retired but owned a successful roofing company in New Jersey", Corcoran told the outlet.

The lawsuit alleged that Singer had performed oral sex on Sanchez-Guzman against his will and sexually assaulted him. He was sacked from his directing duties on-and had his producer credit stripped from-the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody and the upcoming Red Sonja movie.

Singer is still facing numerous sexual abuse accusations from teenage boys, published as part of a piece in The Atlantic in January.

'The decision to resolve the matter with the bankruptcy trustee was purely a business one, as litigation costs would well-exceed the amount requested by the trustee to pay off the creditors who were owed money when the debtor filed for bankruptcy, ' the statement read.

Lawyers for Bryan Singer say Guzman never cited his bankruptcy case as being related to the allegations against Singer, as well as the related court case.

Much of the $150,000 will be handed over to Sanchez-Guzman's creditors in his bankruptcy proceedings. The bulk of those claims represent student loan debt, which is not dischargeable in bankruptcy.
