Giving the actor a clean chit, the police have now made a decision to close the case informing a local court through a "B Summary" report on Wednesday that they have no evidence to prosecute Nana in the case. He continued, "If police files any B or C classification of summery Report, that cannot be final, we can oppose before court and after hearing if court satisfies then again it can be directed police to reinvestigation or Further investigations".

Patekar had previously denied the allegations in response to a notice sent by the Maharashtra State Commission for Women, adding that since the case had been registered with the police, he will fight it legally. "Our witnesses have been silenced by intimidation and fake witnesses have been put forth to weaken the case", PTI quoted fro Dutta's statement on Thursday.
