A flamingo at an IL zoo had to be euthanized after a child threw a rock inside its exhibit and accidentally hurt it.

Miller Park Zoo Superintendent Jay Tetzloff said through an e-mail statement that Miller Park Zoo had no option, but to euthanize the flamingo. "Unfortunately, staff determined the best course of action given the animal's injuries was to euthanize the bird".
