Lillard felt 'a lot of contact' on Iguodala's game-sealing play

Kevin Durant to miss Games 3 4 of Western Conference finals

In a Kevin Durant injury update, the team's superstar scorer was sidelined once again.

But the Warriors quickly rallied, getting 13 points from Thompson and 11 from Stephen Curry in a 37-15 flurry that turned a 17-point deficit into a five-point lead before the period's end.

The Golden State Warriors announced on Thursday that their star Kevin Durant would not travel to Portland for Game 3 and 4 of the Western Conference Finals, as the superstar is continuing his recovery from an injury to his right calf.

For the time being, it has brought them a throwback feel that has energized the team.

"They played like a championship team would at home", Portland head coach Terry Stotts said of the Warriors. The Warriors will undoubtedly win this series even if he doesn't play a minute, and it is very possible they will beat Portland in a clean sweep or in five games.

"Just him being back there in the locker room and being around practice, I know he's just dying to get out there on the court", Thompson said, via The Mercury News. Just got to keep going, because we know we can erase eight points in a minute.

"He's important to things we do on both sides of the ball", Draymond Green said. "It's up to everybody to step their game up a couple notches". Lillard, however, refused to blame the officials for not calling it a foul and eventually admitted it was good defensive play.

This is from experience.

As for Cousins, he's not ready for live action quite yet but has progressed to being able to do "on-court work" per the Warriors' statement (below).

However he's right to say he was more than a spectator in this game.

The Blazers shot just 36.1 percent from the field and 25 percent from deep, and lost the turnover battle 21-14. Could this success influence Durant's upcoming free agency decision? When in front of microphones, the Warriors have been nothing but supportive. For comparison, the Cavaliers have played the second-most road playoff games in that span with 42, and they were on average a 1-point underdog on the road. "He's the greatest teammate you could ever have. We plan on being back here", Lillard said.

It's tough to argue the team's chemistry when Curry is on the floor and Durant is not. But, obviously, the ref is not going to decide the game or jump in at that point.
