Apple Card seen bolstering iPhone user loyalty

Artwork from Where Cards Fall Apple Arcade game on iPhone

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, speaks during an Apple special event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, U.S., March 25, 2019.

Apple Card is deeply integrated with iPhone and will be stored in the Apple Wallet app.

With the announcement of the new Apple Card this week, some fans may have hoped for the reinvention of how we pay for things.

Apple also launched a credit card called Apple card. Protected exclusively by the user's fingerprint and face ID, the Apple Card hosts no number and has a set of complex algorithms working to make it one of the most secure systems. Consumers will be encouraged to use the Apple Card to pay for Apple services, which will give them 3 percent Daily Cash rewards. And it really is cash. There are no fees on the Apple Card - at all.

Activating or pairing the Apple Card is very similar like pairing your AirPods with iPhone ie; just bring your card closer to an unlocked iPhone and the card pops up and will activate same as like AirPods.

Much has been said about how we got to this point, but the company's big services event made clear just how much more this change will cost us.

The three newspapers participating in Apple News Plus are the Los Angeles Times, Toronto Star and The Wall Street Journal - the latter a surprise to many industry watchers.

But banks have been increasingly willing to take less favorable deals because post-financial crisis regulations make the credit card business attractive for lenders, which are required to hold less capital against such debt than against other assets. Other stories will still be there, but only when users search for them, Apple said. We won't be surprised if all the issues now available on Apple News+ are already stored on a third-party server. Apple will charge 1% for making an instant transfer from the Apple Pay Cash balance to a debit card.

Apple's new video service, Apple TV+, will also be free of ads and include original programming.

According to John-Kurt Pliniussen from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont., credit card companies will start competing with Apple from now on in order to match what the tech giant is offering.

Apple on Monday said that it had joined forces with Goldman Sachs Group Inc to launch the Apple Card for iPhones. Every device in your home, vehicle and office comes from the Apple store (which, coincidentally, is where you hang out on weekends).

Rather than being a one-off standing order payment, the monthly service fee is likely to be divided amongst the games in the service, based on how much time the user spends on each game. With how seamless Apple made its credit card, coupled with the status surrounding its use, the "chip" card would not make a lot of people "better". It certainly doesn't seem to be related to upcoming racing title Team Sonic Racing, due this May, although Apple did confirm that Team Sonic Racing was coming to Apple Arcade when the service launches later this year.
