Evgeny Svechnikov is said to be a 22-year-old prospect of the Detroit Wings, so the likelihood that he would risk everything for revenge is highly unlikely. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 National Hockey League draft has played in every game for the Hurricanes this season, scoring 20 goals and 17 assists.

Tempers flared enough for Ovechkin to indulge in just the fourth fight of his career, and first since almost a decade ago, according to HockeyFights.com. Washington entered the evening up 2-0 in the series. The Carolina forward fell to the ice and hit his head, prompting teammates to help him to the locker room. After Washington roughed up the Canes' key playmakers in the first two games, making it abundantly obvious which team had spent more time in the playoffs, Carolina responded with a physical statement of its own that may resonate for as long as this series lasts.
