Pochettino picks Barcelona as favourites to win Champions League

Manchester United built 'to win big things' but Barcelona are UCL favourites - Pochettino

But the clash of the round arguably features Barcelona and United.

Manchester United's decision not to announce Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their new permanent manager suggests that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino remains in the frame, says Jamie Redknapp.

"Of course they have players able to make things hard for Barcelona, but I think Barcelona are one step higher than Manchester United".

"[Tottenham Hotspur] to play the final against Barcelona?".

He said: "I always say it, Barça has great players and then a genius".

"If there is a favourite to win the Champions League, that's Barcelona, but I am very confident".

Tottenham have a big climax to the season to come which will no doubt keep Pochettino busy.

Pochettino, who signed a contract running to 2023 past year, was strongly linked with the LaLiga giants after the shock resignation of Zinedine Zidane following Madrid's third consecutive Champions League title. "I'm happy and I still have four years of contract".

"Any of the four English teams would have preferred not to face another Premier League side, but the draw is what it is", Pochettino said.

"I enjoy it day by day and whatever happens tomorrow will be a effect of today".

Pochettino added that he is still very much enjoying his time with Tottenham but at the same time is not looking too far ahead.

Speaking at the Mediterranean International Cup 2019 (a youth football tournament in Barcelona), Pochettino answered questions about his links to Real Madrid, but stayed coy on his interest in the job. Clubs that are in need of winning titles. The name of the Argentinian has been heard a lot in the past few months in Madrid, and the return of Zidane has not led to the Tottenham manager giving up hope of joining the Spanish giants.
