Jaguar Land Rover to recall 44,000 cars over CO2

Jaguar Land Rover recalls 44000 cars over carbon dioxide levels

There's several model lines potentially affected by the impending recall, including the Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, XE, XF, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Velar, and Sport. This is believed to involve a software update in most cases although some could require physical changes, including new tyres on the Evoque.

The excessive Carbon dioxide emissions were discovered by the British vehicle certification agency, who then reported it to JLR.

The CO2 performance variability was discovered by UK's Vehicle Certification Agency.

Neil Barlow, head of vehicle engineering at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), which administers vehicle recalls, said: "DVSA's priority is to protect everyone from unsafe drivers and vehicles".

If you own an affected vehicle, Jaguar Land Rover should soon be contacting you to arrange a free of charge fix (if you're anxious you could cal Jaguar Customer Services on 0345 303 2303 or Land Rover on 0370 500 0500), which seems to mean a software update.

The recall covers vehicles with 2.0 litre engines built between 2014 and 2018.

Supreme Court Ruled Remington Gunmakers Can Be Sued Over Sandy Hook Shooting
They contend that the AR-15-style rifle used by shooter Adam Lanza on December 14, 2012 is too unsafe for the public. The case was then moved up to the state's highest court, and the decision to move forward was issued Thursday.

One of the alerts issued said: "Certain vehicles fitted with 2.0L diesel engines may emit excessive levels of Carbon dioxide and may not conform with the certified condition".

An industry source said around 44,000 cars will be recalled once remedial action has been agreed between the manufacturer and the authorities.

The savings and improvements achieved will enable Jaguar Land Rover to fund vital investments into technology to safeguard its future. However, it did say all of the repairs would be carried out free of charge, and it's aiming to "minimise inconvenience to the customer during the short time required for the work to be carried out".

Land Rover Discoveries with the 2.0-litre Ingenium engine are among the models being recalled.
