Conor McGregor phone-smashing saga takes new twist

Conor McGregor

Ahmed Abdirzk, the alleged victim, told TMZ that the entire incident started when he saw McGregor while waiting for his vehicle at the nightclub valet station.

As seen in the footage, the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion is seen and heard using his left foot to stomp on a smart phone he allegedly took from a man.

Alleged victim Ahmed Abdirzak, 22, filed the lawsuit in Miami-Dade County.

McGregor is already facing criminal charges of felony strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief for the incident in which police say McGregor "slapped" Abdirzak's cellphone on the ground and stomped on it before picking it up and walking away with it.

The video, which was obtained and posted by TMZ, can be seen here. The video is short, but clearly shows McGregor in possession of a phone.

McGregor was recently released from jail after being arrested and charged with robbery and criminal damage in Miami.

When Abdirzak tried to get his $1,000 phone back from McGregor, the MMA star "just laughed" and shouted "F-k you!" before speeding off in his SUV, according to the Miami Herald.

"He came to shake my hand, and as soon as he comes to shake my hand he pulls me in and grabs my phone and starts smashing it", Abdirzak told TMZ.
