The Bears have addressed their safety need.

Pro Bowl safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, the team announced.

He'll help the Bears overcome the loss of Adrian Amos, who signed with the Packers in free agency this year. He didn't have an interception with Washington but almost doubled his tackle rate to finish with 66 in nine games with the Redskins.

One Day At a Time Canceled at Netflix
One Day at a Time co-creator has issued a statement following the series' cancellation , stating how their "hearts are very heavy".

This deal is phenomenal for both sides. It will be worth $3.5 million, according to reports. Clinton-Dix, meanwhile, a second-tier safety in a free agent class of first-tier safeties, gets a one-year deal to build his value with an elite defense before hitting the open market against next spring. He'll join forces with All-Pro safety Eddie Jackson to form the new safety tandem for Chuck Pagano's defense with the Bears. Chicago waited for the safety market to settle and got Clinton-Dix on a reasonable, short-term contract.

Clinton-Dix is a five-year National Football League veteran who spent the majority of his career in Green Bay before being traded in the middle of last season to the Redskins. His extensive experience within the division could prove invaluable when it comes to knowing opposing quarterbacks and coaches' tendencies.

New Bears cornerback Buster Skrine spent time with Clinton-Dix on Thursday morning, during the latter's visit to the Bears.
