It is called the Trashtag Challenge and it actually has a point and serves a goal.

A new challenge has been taking the internet by storm, with people wishing it would last forever and would get more people from around the world taking part in it. We are loving Mother Nature's new makeover. Within a few days, the trend has caught on and people all over the world are enthusiastically participating in this clean-up.

It wasn't long before thousands of people had picked up on the challenge, and posted before and after photos and videos to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Reddit, showing themselves cleaning up beaches, parks, schools and streets all around the world.

Instead of encouraging social media users to do something potentially risky, like choking down a spoonful of cinnamon or sticking a shot glass on your lips to copy Kylie Jenner, an altogether more wholesome viral challenge is spreading across the web. Forget Kiki and Momo Challenge, Here are 5 Positive Social Media Challenges You Should Actually Take Up.

The movement is also called #TrashChallenge by some users, and judging by the way this online challenge is picking up, it looks like cleaning up our local communities might just be the next trendy pastime! The main goal of the challenge is to clean up their own communities before someone else does. So, when are you going to take part in this great initiative?
