Claude Puel says his Leicester side had more than enough chances to win against Tottenham but they just could

"Mauricio Pochettino's side have done something similar in each of their past four league games, but it is actually very impressive that they keep getting results when none of those performances have been particularly great".

Son was booked in the first half after going down in the area under a challenge from Harry Maguire, becoming the fourth Spurs player to be yellow-carded for simulation this season.

Despite doing enough to secure an important three points, Tottenham did very little to impress Schmeichel, who was heavily critical of their display.

"They didn't create chances".

He said: "More than anything I decided on Tottenham because there was an Argentinian manager and support team - or they can [at least] speak Spanish - and because it was a club that supported young players a lot".

"They play fantastic football", Spurs captain said of Wednesday's opponents. "Leicester had all the opportunities".

The South Korean went on to get on the scoresheet at Wembley, putting the finishing touches on a win that had been set up by Davinson Sanchez and Christian Eriksen goals. When you compare the situation with the penalty for Leicester, unbelievable.

Pochettino felt that Son deserved a penalty and found it "unbelievable" that he was booked for diving instead. "We need to deal with a few more games and then hopefully the squad will be full again until the end". "I think he's going to feel fantastic now". In some days it's hard to deal with Wembley but hopefully in this big game we'll receive this help from the crowd'.

Tottenham were under plenty of pressure heading into the match, having already seen leaders Liverpool win earlier in the weekend, and although they were not at their fluent best, they deserve plenty of credit for coming through on top.

"I think it's hard", he said. "All the game we had a lot of chances". It was a good moment for me and the team because at that moment if we conceded a goal the game would have changed completely.

"Normally Jamie takes the penalty and I gave him the opportunity. I said to him if he felt OK he can take the penalty, but it's not just the penalty that cost us".
