Dua Lipa’s Grammys Look Is Just as Electric as Her Nominated Single

Lady Gaga reacts on winning Best Pop Duo Group Performance for

It's been a long road for Dua Lipa, but on Sunday night, she was awarded the coveted Best New Artist award at the Grammys.

Footage from the press room shows that Dua Lipa did not leave her comments on the stage and that she continued to speak about the subject when quizzed by reporters.

The comment was seen as a jibe at Neil Portnow, the Grammys president, who drew criticism past year when he responded to comments about the lack of female winners by saying that women needed to "step up".

"I know i'm not there tonight (trust, i tried and still truly wished it had worked out tbh) and i know i said i try not to put too much weight into these things. but f**k. this is wild and lovely. thank you so much". While Dua Lipa may not feel super new to us (I'm sorry, where was her Grammy for "IDGAF"?!), she's technically a new artist.

You'll recall that a year ago that, after female artists failed to earn much recognition at the 2018 Grammys, Portnow said that women needed to step up.
