Amazon is acquiring mesh W-Fi router company Eero

Amazon,Eero,Eero routers

The total value of the deal wasn't disclosed. Founded in San Francisco in 2014 by Amos Schallich, Nate Hardison, and Nick Weaver, eero's goal is to make WiFi so good that you'll never think about WiFi again. Eero's home routers are part of a mesh Wi-Fi system that can be set up in minutes. Alas, it looks like Amazon was more keen to the idea.

A key reason for the Eero acquisition is Amazon's increased focus on the internet connected home. With Eero, it is pushing into Wi-Fi networking equipment, too. I'd also propose that Amazon could want to integrate Eero's mesh Wi-Fi technology into its Echo devices, or vice versa.

Like we said, the moment was NBD for the recent Grammy victor , as she continued the performance like the professional she is. Lauryn Hill was part of the Fugees when the group won in 1997 for The Score . "Maybe I need to start smoking weed".

It's a move that "helps customers better connect to smart home devices", according to Amazon's press release, but really, it's another way to counter Google's smart home initiatives, one of the only ones Amazon didn't have an answer for in 2019.

While this hassle clearly falls into the category of First World problems, it's a point of friction that prevents more mainstream customers from hooking up their homes with Wi-Fi-connected lights and appliances. "We have a shared vision that the smart home experience can get even easier, and we're committed to continue innovating on behalf of customers". The e-commerce giant acquired smart doorbell company Ring a year ago for $1 billion, and has struck alliances with consumer electronics companies to bring its Alexa smart assistant to a wide range of kitchen appliances and other devices. In April past year, the e-commerce giant purchased Ring, a maker of video doorbells and other security equipment, for $839 million. Eero raised about $90 million in funding before the acquisition.
