Ormsby to take two-shot lead to Vic Open final day
It was a day of firsts in the final round of the Vic Open at 13th Beach Golf Links on the Bellarine Peninsula near Melbourne with the men's victor, David Law, and the victor of the women's event, Celine Boutier, both winning for the first time on their respective tours.
"It's been something I've been working toward since I turned pro and I just feel like it just happened", said Boutier, who now makes her home in Dallas, Texas.
Staged at 13th Beach Golf Links on Australia's Bellarine Peninsula, men and women play on the same courses, at the same time, for equal prize money.
With her two-shot victory, Boutier became the first woman from France to win on the global circuit since Patricia Meunier-Lebouc in 2003.
A standout when attending Duke University in the U.S., the 25-year-old recovered from a shaky start to her final round when recording bogeys at two of her first three holes to finish with a round of 72 and win by two.
"Out there today, I felt in control of my emotions and my game".
Australians Sarah Kemp (65) and Su Oh (74) and England's Charlotte Thomas (69) have tied for second on 283.
"I had to call a penalty on myself on the ninth hole, my ball moved when I went into the putt".

P.A., Canada gain jobs, Sask. Sees slight drop
The youth jobless rate edged up to 11.2 per cent, from 11.1 per cent in December as more young people looked for work. However, the number of people working also declined as people left the workforce.
Scot David Law won the men's event for his first European Tour success.
"We had to go for it, so I sort of took a bit off a hybrid and lucky it went to eight-10 feet. It's not always easy to be able to get your first win", Boutier said after staving off nerves for her breakthrough victory.
"It was a insane day", said Kemp.
The round was made even more remarkable given she double bogeyed her first hole of the day.
"It was one of those days you nearly can't remember what happened", said Kemp, who knocked in five consecutive birdies at Nos. 4-8. "I'm just so emotional right now".
The American then holed a hard birdie from the front bunker at the short par-three seventh - known locally as "the postage stamp" after the famous par-three at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland - to regain control.
