Investigators piece together what happened in 3 months of Jayme Closs' captivity

GORDON, Wisc. - New details emerged Sunday about the ramshackle cabin where 13-year-old kidnapping victim Jayme Closs was held for 88 days - as the family that helped save her recounted her tense rescue to The Post.

Jake Patterson, 21, is accused of shooting and killing Jayme's parents before abducting the 13-year-old at her northwestern Wisconsin home on October 15.

Neighbor Jeanne Nutter brought Closs to the Kasinskas' after she found the girl wandering in a daze on Thursday.

According to a Facebook page that was originally set up when Jayme disappeared but is now titled Healing for Jayme Closs says that if you would like to write any letters or well wishes to Jayme or her family, you can send it to Light the Way Home for Jayme Closs at PO box 539 in Rice Lake, WI 54868.

What's unclear, however, is how and why Patterson - from the remote community of Gordon two counties from Barron - allegedly chose Jayme for kidnapping. Authorities are holding Patterson on suspicion of kidnapping and homicide.

Investigators say there's no evidence of any online interactions between him and Jayme.

On Thursday, Jayme fled the cabin near the small town of Gordon where she said she had been imprisoned.

After a harrowing 88 days in captivity Jayme Closs has finally been reunited with family, spending her first night home with aunt Jennifer Smith, the sister Closs' late mother Denise.

Barron County Sheriff Christopher Fitzgerald said he does not believe her kidnapper took her across state lines.

Disciplined Anirban Lahiri lying at 3-under, Matt Kuchar holds lead
Kuchar ended a four-year drought by winning the Mayakoba Classic in Mexico last fall, and there are a few similarities. Thomas had four bogeys, three of which were sandwiched in between one more birdie and an eagle to close out the round.

"Now it's about getting him the harshest sentence possible", Jayme's aunt Kelly Engelhart said.

After officers arrived at the home and took Closs to safety, they told Kristin and her kids to get away from any windows in case the abductor came to the home.

Fitzgerald said Saturday that investigators will try to determine, among other things, how Jayme escaped and the conditions in which she was held. "She's in exceptionally good spirits".

"This is the nightmare case that we all, as parents, family members ... dread", FBI Special Agent Justin Tolomeo said.

"Now they know their Jayme, [who] was their whole world, is home with family". "Did she go with him to the store?"

While investigators have said Patterson's goal was to kidnap Jayme, he has no apparent prior connection to the family. "Did he buy food?"

"Jayme was the champion that finally said enough is enough", he told CNN's "Anderson Cooper Full Circle" Friday, "We can't be more proud of Jayme".

Wearing an oversized shirt and shoes that were too big for her, she described a girl who seemed like she'd grabbed at whatever she could to make her escape, trying to survive as she ran through the icy wilderness.
