Austin Kendall to enter NCAA transfer portal

Report Quarterback Austin Kendall Considers Transferring From OU

According to reports, Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Austin Kendall has entered the transfer portal.

The Athletic reported Friday night that Kendall was not the only Sooners player in the database.

As a true freshman, Kendall served as the backup to Baker Mayfield.

Kendall played backup to Heisman Trophy victor Baker Mayfield during his true freshman year before sitting out a redshirt season. Now, he appears ready for a fresh start. Kendall has already graduated and would have two years of eligibility remaining.

Samsung launches a massive 219-inch "The Wall" TV
Who really needs an 8K TV? Hisense is increasingly making a case for itself beyond budget TVs. Samsung showed a massive 219-inch TV at the CES technology show in Las Vegas , CNN reports.

Entering the NCAA transfer pool does not mean Kendall will officially leave Oklahoma, but it does give other programs the opportunity to contact him.

Since 2016, Kendall has only played in eight games for the Sooners. But as things now stand, it could be a big year for this Sooners freshman.

If Kendall does bolt, that leaves redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai and incoming five-star recruit Spencer Rattler as the only quarterbacks on the roster. He played well in the time he was given, completing 71.8 percent of his passes (28 of 39) for 265 yards and three touchdowns.

A Murray return may be more than most OU fans could possibly hope for with the multi-sport athlete drawing first-round possibilities in the National Football League draft, but this does make for an intriguing weekend with the deadline to declare looming on Monday.
