Rumor: Peter King says Antonio Brown doesn’t want Steelers to trade him

USA Today Images

While the Steelers' season is in the books, they aren't allowed to make any roster changes until March 13 - that's the first day of the National Football League off-season.

"There's not much we can do right now; we have time to make a decision", Rooney told the outlet.

Beyond that, Rooney said the team is leaving all of its options open regarding Brown, which would mean the team will likely have to attempt to trade him.

Brown did not play in the Steelers' season-ending win over the Cincinnati Bengals, for what head coach Mike Tomlin described as Brown leaving the team in its "darkest hour". He also said the team is not closing the door on the possibility of smoothing things over with Brown, but he is not optimistic that will happen. All the recruiting in the world doesn't matter if the Steelers trade him elsewhere.

IBM earns record patents in 2018, India second highest contributor
IBM said the Q System One makes it possible to reset qubits in a matter of hours, instead of the days or weeks it normally takes. The organizations that partner with IBM will get access to its quantum software and cloud-based quantum computing systems.

The Steelers would absorb $21.12 million in 2019 dead money on the salary cap by trading Brown, but taking his $22.165-million cap charge off the books would offset that cost.

As to if Brown will be with the team come training camp, Rooney said: "As we sit here today, it's hard to envision that". There were reports from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette of a confrontation with a teammate and Brown skipping out on team meetings and practices leading to the game. "If we decide something has to be done, we'll figure out how to deal with that". We have two months to go before we can do anything. There's no sense making the decision now.

In the meantime, teams in the market for a receiver averaging 1,524.2 yards and 11.2 touchdowns per season since 2013 should begin preparing their bids.
