Mercedes-Benz CLA debuts at CES

Mercedes-Benz India sales rises 1.4% to 15,538 units in 2018

In terms of size, the new CLA measures 4688mm long, 1830mm wide, 1439mm tall and has a 2729mm wheelbase. Finally, it now has a wide array of wheel designs that range from 16-inches to 19-inches. It is built on a re-engineered version of the previous car's platform and uses technology from the latest A-class. The new CLA has also been honed in the wind tunnel to have a drag coefficient of 0.23, very close to the previous car's 0.22 Cd, despite a larger frontal area. "Coupled with new operating systems, it sets new benchmarks for the entire class", she added.

Mercedes didn't say how much the CLA-Class would cost when it goes on sale near the end of this year, but it's likely to be more than current CLA's base price of roughly $34,000. This is a good thing, because we're unanimous in our opinion that the new A-Class has a vastly improved interior compared with the old CLA. It sits lower to the ground by 2 mm, however, it has sacrificed 10 litres of boot capacity, although improvements have been made to the width of the load opening space, meaning you should be able to better utilise the space that the CLA has to offer. At the Las Vegas show, Mercedes presented the CLA 250, which has a gasoline engine producing 225 hp together with a 7-gear dual-clutch transmission. The full details about the CLA as released by Mercedes at CES can be found in the document attached below.

The CLA was revealed in Sin City in Edition 1 launch spec (with all its associated stylistic bits and bobs), and the vehicle is fitted with the firm's 2-litre turbopetrol engine, rated at 165kW and 350Nm and mated to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch gearbox. The CLA will also benefit from 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Now, with the new A-class sedan taking the lowest rung on the Benz totem pole, the brand is repositioning the CLA to be a sportier, more stylish, and more upscale compact offering-what it should have been from the beginning. MBUX is Mercedes-Benz's latest and greatest infotainment software, created to replace the old turn-dial menu-based system.

The first three generations of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class were kept away from North America largely because they were small, comparatively expensive luxury hatchbacks, and no one here wants those. The system is similar in concept to what other manufacturers, including German rival Audi, have to offer.

IRS will issue tax refunds during shutdown, Trump official says
The White House has directed the IRS to pay tax refunds to millions of people during the partial federal shutdown . About three-quarters of taxpayers receive annual refunds, giving them an incentive to file their returns early.

On the outlook for the new year, Schwenk said, "2019 is going to be an important year for Mercedes-Benz India, as we reach the milestone of "25 years of Mercedes-Benz in India".

In the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Class, the MBUX experience is expanded. "Instead it only responds to the commands of the person who last said 'Hey Mercedes" to activate the system".

Alongside the new tech Mercedes-Benz offers in the form of MBUX are a variety of additional packages.

Paring the MBUX with another Mercedes premiere at CES, the Benz-branded Garmin vivoactive 3 Global Positioning System smartwatch will make for a driving experience like no other, promises the carmaker. The information from the watch is fed back to the vehicle.
