Tesla Kills A Robot At CES: It’s Transformers All Over Again

The robots were all moving in line but one rebellious electric soul missed its way somehow and drove to the roadway by the Congress Hall's parking lot.

Vigilant observers soon noticed, however, that the alleged incident ahead of the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show opening in Las Vegas may have been staged.

The Russian company Promobot has released video showing one of its Model v4 robots being knocked over on Paradise Road, Las Vegas.

Promobot was working as a consultant at the exhibition.

At the same time, a person named George Caldera was testing the self-driving mode of Tesla S which crashed into the Promobot. It was then struck by a Tesla Model S operating in autonomous mode.

Parts of the body, the mechanisms of the arms, the movement platform and a head are destroyed.

At the moment this article is being written, the Nevada Police Department is still investigating the incident.

Give the incident the VAR treatment though, and you realise the Tesla probably hasn't made contact and the robot hasn't dived either; however, there is what looks to be a pull.

Moment of impact between Model S and Promobot
Autonomous robot struck and killed by a self-driving Tesla in Las Vegas

"And that video appears to show a rope snaking away from the incident - the sort that could be used, say, to pull down a robot that hadn't been hit by a vehicle at all", the outlet added.

When questioned, Caldera said, "There was nobody there, no men, no cars".

'I switched this Tesla into a self-driving mode and it started to move.

"Of course we are vexed", Promobot development director Oleg Kivokurtsev told the Daily Mail. Now it neither can not participate in the event not to be recovered.

'We will conduct an internal investigation and find out why the robot went to the roadway'. A robot on the track!

Tech The Lead is now at CES and we will be speaking to Promobot: we promise to find out if there's any hope of recovery for the adventurous robot, and more.

'I thought the flivver would come round, but it bumped straightly into the it! "And my honest apologies to the engineers".
