Saudi King Invites Qatar's Emir To Gulf Arab Summit

Saudi Arabia along fellow Gulf countries Bahrain and the UAE cut off relations with Qatar in June 2017

Speaking ahead of the GCC summit set to be held in Riyadh on Sunday, Al Khalifa said that the hostile policy pursued by Qatar against other GCC states is clear, notably Doha's hostility toward Saudi Arabia.

Qatar News Agency said in a tweet that the emir had received "an invitation from the King of Saudi Arabia" for the meeting on December 9. It did not say if the Sheikh Tamim would travel to the kingdom.

With Riyadh hosting the summit, it is possible that King Salman is attempting to demonstrate some stability after the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi and last year's unsuccessful GCC summit.

Earlier this week, Qatar announced it will withdraw from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, just as Saudi Arabia outlined plans for Russian Federation to increase crude-market cooperation with the group.

Qatar has yet to confirm what level of representation it will be sending to the six-nation GCC summit.

The CDC rushed a brand-new drug to doctors in an effort to save the woman, but she died from the infection. Most cases of brain-eating amoebas have been found in places like California, Arizona and Texas but Dr.

The invite comes as a surprise since Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and non-GCC member Egypt imposed diplomatic, trade and transport sanctions on Qatar saying it supports terrorism.

The row has defied mediation efforts by Kuwait and the United States which sees Gulf unity as essential to efforts to contain Iran.

Inflows have picked up in Qatar this year after several large-cap companies announced they were easing limits on foreign ownership, prompting an adjustment of their weighting in benchmarks used by emerging-market fund managers.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have repeatedly said that the dispute with Qatar is not a high priority for them, and Qatar's foreign minister said last month that he saw no thaw in the frosty relations.
