He was sentenced to one year in jail for the school emails and two years for the airport security scare in which the aircraft - with 295 passengers on board - had to be quarantined at San Francisco airport.
It followed an investigation by the National Crime Agency (NCA). Hundreds of the schools were evacuated.
He was arrested days later but in April, he sent another batch of hoax emails to schools in the United States and UK.
George Duke-Cohan, 19, from the village of Garston, near Watford, just north of London, previously pleaded guilty to making three bomb hoaxes, including one in August against a transatlantic United Airlines flight that resulted in all 295 passengers aboard being exhaustively searched by USA police workers after the flight landed.
"The scale of what you did was enormous", he added.
NCA senior investigating officer Marc Horsfall said Duke-Cohan's actions caused "serious worry and inconvenience to thousands of people" and had carried them out "hidden behind a computer screen for his own enjoyment".
He had no previous convictions and lived with his mother and sister, but was linked to a cyber-hacker group on Twitter calling itself the Apophis Squad. Whilst still on that course on 31st January 2018, the college received a bomb threat which was taken seriously - 2,500 students and staff had to be evacuated.
'You were playing a game for your own perverted sense of fun in full knowledge of the consequences'.
The email warned a student had entered schools with a bomb - and demanded $5,000 to be deposited in VeltPvP's account.
More than 400 schools were evacuated, according to the National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Worcester News reported on how Red Hill Primary School in Worcester sent children home early after receiving the email in which threats were made suggesting pupils would be harmed when they left school.

In a recording of one of the phone calls which was made while the plane was in the air, he takes on the persona of a anxious father and claims his daughter contacted him from the flight to say it had been hijacked by gunmen, one of whom had a bomb.
The court heard that one of the emails, sent to a special needs school, read: "This is a message to everyone".
Prosecutor Rebecca Austin said it was "clear" that Duke-Cohan used the influence of the Columbine attack of 1999 to add "authenticity".
Officers recovered multiple electronic devices belonging to him, the use of which was in contravention to his bail conditions imposed on him.
Before long his name was in the frame for a third hoax, regarding a bogus tip-off that hijackers had taken over a United Airlines flight from Heathrow to San Francisco. When the plane arrived in San Francisco it was quarantined and all passengers told to remain on board while a full search was carried out.
A tweet sent after the plane landed included the words "9/11 remake".
The judge also highlighted that Duke-Cohan had "bragged" about his offending and had said how "funny" it was to make hoax calls.
The court had heard that Duke-Cohan 19, from Watford in Herts, had been bullied at school and was said to love the "notoriety" and attention he was gaining among the online hacking community.
"He will have had a power trip watching the chaos unfold, without feeling guilt or shame".
