Infant ibuprofen sold at Walmart CVS recalled over dosage concerns

Company Tris Pharama Inc. released a press release that includes 3 lot numbers of medicine that may contain a higher concentration of the drug that is safe for babies.

New Jersey-based Tris Pharma said the product was packaged in 0.5 oz. bottles and labeled to contain 50 mg per 1.25 mL.

Tris Pharma said it voluntarily recalled three lots of "Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, USP (NSAID)" on Wednesday because it possibly contained higher amounts of ibuprofen than advertised.

There's a "remote possibility" that the drug could cause permanent kidney damage in infants, the company warned. It could be potentially risky for babies and could cause nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain or diarrhea. "Tinnitus, headache and gastrointestinal bleeding".
