Bale `ready´ to face Denmark, says Wales boss Giggs

Ryan Giggs urges Wales to seal Nations League promotion and Euro 2020 boost

Wales manager Ryan Giggs reckons there are plenty of incentives for the Red Dragons to top their UEFA Nations League group ahead of tomorrow's game against Denmark. There is excitement in the air in Cardiff as Wales prepare to face Denmark this evening in what Ryan Giggs accepts is nearly a cup final. "He arrived a little bit later than the rest of the group after playing on Sunday evening".

The Manchester United legend said: "The UEFA Nations League was quite hard to get your head around it".

Cardiff, Wales. 12th November, 2018. Wales manager Ryan Giggs at Wales training at the Vale Resort ahead of their upcoming global matches against Denmark & Albania.

"I think he's played enough and done OK", Giggs said.

Gareth Bale sat out of Wales' win in Dublin last month through injury and the Real Madrid man will have an ankle injury assessed ahead of this match, but Wales are confident that Bale will be fit to face the Danes.

But Giggs' men will top the their group in the new Nations League competition if they claim three points in Cardiff against the World Cup Finalists tonight, and Vokes said: "It's a big game for us".

Ryan Giggs urges Wales to seal Nations League promotion and Euro 2020 boost
Vokes relishing challenge for Burnley and Wales

Giggs has described the game as a "cup final" with the extra carrot of a potential route into the European Championship. It's always good when you have something to win at the end of games or a group of games. You get the second bite of the cherry for qualifying for the Euros if you don't qualify automatically.

"We started off wanting to win".

A win would guarantee promotion, but should Denmark draw in Cardiff tomorrow, then they would be in a good position to top the group when they host relegated side Ireland in Aarhaus on Monday.

Denmark, though, defeated Wales in this competition back in September and Hareide's side are available at 7/4 (2.75) to double their delight against Giggs' outfit. "It's not going to be easy because we're up against a top-class side, a very good manager, players who have been together a long time and who have proved that they're tough to beat".

Previously contested by teams finishing third in their group, that stage will now involve the 16 UEFA Nations League group winners, or, if they have already qualified, the next best ranked team in their league.
