Neither can at least one other "masked bandit".

Neighbors had reported two raccoons that they thought were rabid to police, but it turned out they were just drunk on fermented crabapples, the Milton Police Department wrote on its Facebook page. Drunk on fermented crab apples, that is, according to WSAZ.

Rabies is no joke, so if you see a wild animal acting weird, it's always a good idea to both avoid it and alert animal control so they can take a look.

Rather, they appeared to be drunk, police said.

The Milton Police Department said on Facebook that they're had calls on suspected rabid raccoons twice over the past two days. For instance, residents in a Minnesota city in October called authorities with several reports of birds crashing into windows and ramming into cars.

The drunk raccoon captured Monday wasn't the first. Once they were allowed to sober up, they were set free in a nearby woods.

"If you see a staggering and disoriented raccoon, please do not approach it", police wrote in the post.
