Chris Paul, Brandon Ingram, & Rajon Rando Get Ejected After Massive Brawl

Chris Paul Rajon Rondo Paul Pierce Rockets Lakers

The attention for LeBron James' first official game at Staples Center was taken away thanks to an ugly scene late in the Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Houston Rockets.

Play was stopped for almost 10 minutes while the referees tried to adjudicate the fracas that started with Brandon Ingram pushing James Harden and exploded when Rajon Rondo landed a left-handed punch to Chris Paul's face after the Rockets point guard poked a finger in Rondo's face.

The brawl was broken up by assistant coaches, officials and players now on the floor, including LeBron James, who restrained Paul, while Carmelo Anthony and two Lakers held back Ingram. A foul is called on the play, which angers Brandon Ingram. After the fact, Paul claimed that Rondo spit on him, sparking the altercation. Rondo, Ingram, and Paul were all ejected, and the Lakers ended up losing 125-115.

So, some suspensions will nearly certainly be coming. Ingram not only shoved James Harden from behind, but he also proceeded to run into a pile and throw a punch when he wasn't involved in the squabble between Paul and Rondo. The two continued to throw hands before eventually being separated, with Ingram running in to throw a haymaker.

"No", McGee said. "If you poke the bear you're going to get bit".
