Girl sells out of cookies in minutes after choosing clever sales spot

Edmonton Girl Guide sells out of cookies in cannabis store lineup

Elina Childs, 9, of Alberta in Canada, chose to sell her cookies outside a marijuana dispensary on Wednesday, Global News Canada reports.

"Last year, she got bit by a dog, it wasn't bad but we were still apprehensive", dad Seann Childs told CNN.

"So we decided, why don't we go out there and sell cookies", he said.

She sold all 30 boxes in less than 45 minutes, earning $120 for Girl Guides. The reception outside the cannabis store, he said, was much more friendly-not to mention a positive lesson in entrepreneurialism.

The nine-year-old Girl Guide and her father showed up at Nova Cannabis just south of Whyte Avenue, pulling a wagon filled with top-shelf munchies: sandwich cookies and mint thins.

"It was well received", said Seann Childs.

While the country's government is set to benefit from taxes, and the cannabis industry is sure to grow, the policy has already done wonders for a Girl Guide in Edmonton. There were cars stopping on the street to buy cookies from her.

"It was really something else", he said. "I'd never seen anything quite like that".

But let's not dismiss this claim on its face just because other similar accusations about Soros have proved baseless . On the Mexico side, the border post is guarded by a heavy security force and tall metal gates.

"We were sold out in no time", he said.

Elina is not the first girl guide to take advantage of customers with the munchies.

"Good on her and her family for thinking of it", said Edmonton commissioner for Girl Guides, Heather Monahan.

"Why wouldn't it be?" she said.

"We were looking at it as an opportunity to educate her on what marijuana is and the fact that it's legal in Canada now", Childs said. "Girl Guides is one part of that".

Elina has cystic fibrosis, so she usually can't be around people who are smoking.

Childs said that he and Elina had several conversations about legalization and what it meant for Canada. "We saw that as an opportunity to get out there and teach her a little about what cannabis is".

It was also on the first day of legal cannabis sales across Canada.
