Rooney scores wonderful free-kick for DC United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists everybody knows Rooney and his qualities

Wayne Rooney scored his 10th goal of the season in the first half, and D.C. United went on to move within a victory of clinching a playoff spot following a 1-0 victory over visiting Toronto FC on Wednesday night.

However, the former England captain has now revealed five players who would have an important role in the dressing room.

The all-time top scorer for Manchester United also played down the widely believed defensive tactics of current manager Jose Mourinho.

"That would never be allowed to happen", Rooney said in an interview with the Men In Blazers TV show to be broadcast on NBCSN on Monday afternoon.

'The likes of Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, myself - players who had Man U in them and wanted the best for that club - would never allow anyone to mess that up.

Local doctors are stressing the safety of the flu vaccine after a study found some parents remain skeptical about the shot. The vaccine can take time to begin working.

Scholes: I never saw 'selfish' Sanchez as a Manchester United player
They also think that they are the targets because the pundits do not want to go for Mourinho, and face his wrath. Scholes further added that even Lionel Messi would struggle in the current squad.

Rooney can take credit for much of the team's improvement. Alex Ferguson didn't really need to control that.

But Rooney disagrees: 'People talk about our team - especially in relation to Manchester United now - and say it was attack, attack, attack.

'A lot of games we played on the counter-attack, drew teams onto us and then broke with pace.

Rooney is enjoying somewhat of a rejuvenation at the tail end of his career, winning numerous plaudits since his summer switch to MLS side DC United.

Rooney, situated approximately 35-yards out from the goal with the ball in a central position, curls in an absolute beauty past the wall and the outstretched fingertips of the goalkeeper Alex Bono, before crashing into the back of the net.
