CDC: Antibiotic-resistant salmonella outbreak includes Kentucky

Salmonella from raw chicken has made 92 people sick across 29 states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday.

As an investigation continues, the CDC said the source remains unclear. This particular strain of salmonella has been found in both live chickens and raw chicken products, which the CDC says could mean it is "widespread in the chicken industry". A single, common supplier of raw chicken products or of live chickens has not been identified.
