Selena Gomez receiving treatment after suffering emotional breakdown

Selena Gomez is reportedly seeking treatment

Gomez didn't attend the American Music Awards last night and the site notes that her team has been virtually silent recently. She's now currently in a mental health facility for treatment.

"As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus".

Gomez previously shared her struggles with mental health issues in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, detailing that she suffers from anxiety and depression.

"Selena is a fighter and will be back in no time, but for now, she is listening to the doctors and staying healthy", a source told Entertainment Tonight. In August, her one-time best friend and former Disney co-star Demi Lovato was hospitalized for an alleged heroin overdose.

During the stream, she said she would be taking yet another "step back" from social media, adding, "Every time I try to do something right, every time I try to do something good, I felt like people were picking me apart". The site notes that the condition could stem from her kidney transplant. This procedure - which Gomez has undergone in the past - is created to treat mental health issues such as borderline personality disorder, suicidal behaviour and depression.

In February 2018, Gomez checked into treatment in a luxury CT facility for two weeks. The "It Ain't Me" singer started giving away her clothes on Instagram and sent a weird message to Jennifer Lopez on Instagram, which was the final straw before announcing a social media hiatus. She also warned fans, "Kindness and encouragement only for a bit!"

"Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".

The 26-year-old singer was hospitalised twice in the last few weeks for a low white blood cell count, a side effect from the kidney transplant she underwent last year.

After being released days later, Selena had to be re-admitted last week because her low blood cell count persisted, and it threw Selena into a complete meltdown.
