"In a weird way, just sort of navigating the inevitable perception of it is the exhausting part", Theroux said.

PARIS, FRANCE - APRIL 11: Actor Justin Theroux and Actress Jennifer Aniston attend the "LVxKOONS" exhibition (Louis Vuitton and Jeff Koons Collaboration) at Musee du Louvre on April 11, 2017 in Paris, France.

The actor, who can now be seen in the Netflix series Maniac alongside Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, added that navigating the media post-split has been one of the biggest challenges.

For fans wondering if the two remain friendly, he confirmed, "Neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other".

"It's pretty insane. The misconceptions are 'Jen can't keep a man, ' and 'Jen refuses to have a baby because she's selfish and committed to her career.' Or that I'm sad and heartbroken", she said.

The star has also cultivated a frequent Instagram presence in recent years, but after experiencing a high-profile romance in the spotlight he's still keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes to the overall social media machine.

After rumors of their breakup started swirling in February 2018, Theroux and Aniston issued a joint statement and shared they had gone their separate ways after two years together. For me, at least, it can very quickly turn you into a house cat, in that you're perceiving what's going on around you through panes of glass: "your windshield, your driver's side door, your rearview mirror". "It's more like, it's amicable. Or that I'm sad and heartbroken", Aniston said.

'First, with all due respect, I'm not heartbroken. They described their split as "two best friends who have chose to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship".

'No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me.

Shortly after their split, reports surfaced claiming that Theroux's love for NY and Aniston's love for LA was one of the reasons they just couldn't make it work.

"But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we're both very proud of", he said.

When asked if he is seeing anyone at the moment, the Times reports that Theroux laughed and quipped, "Is this the part where I coyly raise an eyebrow and not answer the question?"

In March, a month after the split, a source told Us Weekly that the two had barely spoken to each other since announcing their separation.
